The exhibition contrasts the spirit of the times from 1900 to 1940, as reflected in masterpieces of Belgian graphic art from that period, with the spirit of the times today.
The pre-war prints come from Wim Flameng’s extensive private collection. We see works by renowned graphic artists and woodcutters, including Kurt Peiser, Armand Rassenfosse, Frans Masereel, Joris Minne and Edgard Tytgat.
Eight contemporary visual artists engage in dialogue and represent the current zeitgeist: Caroline Coolen, Hans Op de Beeck, Marianne Van Ravesteyn, Pavel Balta, Quinten Clause, Raymond Minnen, Stefan Serneels and Tom Liekens.
Curators (with their own contributions): Bie Flameng and Dirk Janssen
