Grounded

Group Exhibition
-
Emile Van Dorenmuseum, Genk

The Emile Van Doren Museum, house of landscape and art collects, researches and unlocks the art history of the station d'artistes and builds with its archive the artistic and visual memory of Genk and its landscape.
For the 2024 summer exhibition, we are joining forces with Caroline Coolen and Greet Van Autgaerden. We bring the museum collection into direct dialogue with contemporary art. We add a new, artistic layer to the landscape today and open the gaze, back in time and far ahead. We delve into Genk's layered landscape and expose physical and historical ground layers. Skimming the horizon, we go into the depths, literally and figuratively.

'Gegrond/ Grounded', curated by Caroline Coolen and Greet Van Autgaerden with work by Lieve Kauwenberghs, Mathias Kuypers, Maaike Leyn, Michèle Matyn, Otobong Nkanga, Liesl Roos, Bart Van Dijck, Kristof Vrancken, Stijn Wybouw, Caroline Coolen and Greet Van Autgaerden.

A publication will accompany the exhibition.
